Lo and behold the much awaited V2 Miata Rear Diffuser! R Theory designed the V2 diffuser to be wider, and have better flow characteristics than the older V1 diffuser. It was designed for the hardcore track enthusiast who only cares about slaying lap times; while looking great at the same time.
The differences from the older V1 are:
-Wider construction, diffuser goes from wheel to wheel. No compromises made, function comes first.
-Curved center section. Curved diffusers provide better air attachment and downforce compared to diffusers with a single angle.
-Better muffler clearance than the V1. Although you will have to trim this diffuser to clear your exhaust tip. With such a wide variety of different exhaust tips, we decided it would be better if you trimmed the exhaust tip clearance yourself to achieve the best possible fitment.

V2 DIFFUSERS WILL BE MADE TO ORDER. MEANING ONCE YOUR ORDER IS PROCESSED, WE WILL START MAKING YOUR V2 DIFFUSER. LEAD TIME FOR A V2 DIFFUSER IS 1-2 WEEKS. IT OFTEN TAKES LESS THAN A WEEK.
THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THE 1990-1991 KITS AND THE 1992-2005 KITS IS HOW THE DIFFUSER ATTACHES TO THE REAR SUBFRAME. THE NEWER CARS HAVE A BRACE THAT GOES ACROSS THE REAR SECTION OF THE SUBFRAME THAT THE DIFFUSER ATTACHES TO. IF YOU HAVE A 1990-1991 CAR WITH A SUBFRAME FROM A NEWER CAR, YOU CAN GO AHEAD OF PURCHASE THE KIT FOR THE NEWER CARS. YOU CAN SEE THE BRACE IN THE INSTALL INSTRUCTIONS BELOW.
